Samaikyandhra Movement Paralyze Normal Activity

The situation in the Seemandhra districts today the 15th day of protests against the decision of CWC to bifurcate the State as received till now:-

Visakhapatnam:  AP NGOs are continuing strike on the second day today.  As 23000 employees participated in the strike, the administration came to stand still.  As 2000 employees in GVMC, the functioning of the Municipal Corporation was halted totally.  1063 buses belong to 9 depots in Vizag were limited to the depots as  5500 RTC employees joined the strike.

Vizianagaram:  4400 RTC workers joined the strike that made 850 buses in 9 depots remained in the depots.  The official estimation of the loss to the RTC is about 99 lakhs for one day yesterday.

Chittore: Responding to the Tirupati JAC’s for Bandh call, buses in the district of were off the road.  Only limited number of buses is being put in to operation from Alipiri bus stand to Tirumala hills.

Kadapa:  Kadapa District also reached 15th day of agitation against bifurcation and second day for the AP NGO’s strike.  900 RTC buses are limited to the depots and the RTC workers and employees are protesting at the Bus Stand.  Muslim minorities JAC organized a Communal Cooking (Vanta Varpu) program at Maidukuru center of four roads intersection.

Ananthapur:  Banch at Ananthapur reached 14th day.  Shops and commercial places were closed in support of the Samaikyandhra movement.  All Employees unions participated in the Bandh.  As 50000 employees joined the strike the Government activities came to stand still. 980 buses in 12 depots restricted to their respective depots.

Srikakulam:  The Srikakulam town was having a deserted look yesterday due to the strike.  Shops and commercial activities, schools, cinema halls and petrol pumps voluntarily closed in support to the Samaikyandhra movement.  The loss due to the RTC is estimated as Rs.one crore on one day yesterday due to RTC workers’s strike.

Prakasham: A big rally organized by Samaikyandhra JAC leaders brought the normal life to stand still in the district.  Taxi owners burnt the effigy of KCR after taking out a procession at Ongole.   Sonia Gandhi’s effigy was burnt at Markapur by the protesters.
