Ramulamma and Lady Amitabh, Tollywood’s long-time heroine Vijayashanti is 47 year young today . Born in Warangal district, on 24 June 1966 and married to doctor Srinivas Prasad Vijay shanti, now a TRS MP has acted in over 150 films in all several South Indian languages. She has been the leading female lead opposite top stars in Tollywood including NT Rama Rao, Krishna, Akkineni Nageswar Rao, Chiranjeevi, Bala Krishna and Nagarjuna. Known for her bold roles in movies such as Pratighatana and Karthavyam, Vijayashanti has also shown her aggressive side during the Telangana movement. Few years back, she bid adieu to films and entered politics. She launched her own Telangana outfit and later merged it with TRS when she joined the KCR bandwagon.
