Viveka denied ‘mulaqat’ with Jagan in jail

With YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy reserving his lone ‘mulaqat’ of the week for his family on Friday, it has become a big problem for Chanchalguda prison officials to send away people wanting to visit him.

On Wednesday, Jagan’s uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy along with five others including a pastor visited the prison at 10:30 a.m and asked the officials for a ‘mulaqat’ with him.

As Vivekananda Reddy’s request was rejected by jail authorities, he revisited the prison at 1 p.m seeking ‘mulaqat’ but his request was turned down again. Vivekananda Reddy staged a protest for about 20 minutes in front of the jail.

A jail official said Vivekananda Reddy wanted to conduct a prayer meeting for Jagan in the jail but religious programmes were not during ‘mulaqats’.

The official said Vivekananda Reddy was told that Jagan was left with just one more ‘mulaqat’ this week and that it was reserved for his family on Friday.

It was precisely for this reason that Presidential candidate PA Sangma was not allowed to meet Jagan on June 24, he added.
