Judicial remand of Jagan extended till July 4

The judicial remand of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, who was arrested by the CBI on May 27, has been further extended by a court here till July 4.

He was produced before the principal court for CBI cases through video linkage with Chanchalguda jail where he is lodged along with suspended IAS officer B.P. Acharya. The other accused, including Jagan’s financial advisor V. Vijay Sai Reddy, Ramky group chairman A. Ayodhya Rami Reddy and representatives of Aurobindo and Hetero groups, appeared in person. Srikakulam District Collector G. Venkatram Reddy who figured in the third charge sheet against Ramky Pharmacity at Visakhapatnam requested the court to condone his absence as he was busy with the development related to the killing of four SC persons at Laxmipet village in the district. The court posted for hearing on June 28 the request of the Enforcement Directorate to question Jagan on charges of money laundering. The CBI was directed to file on the same day its counter affidavit to the bail application of industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad, arrested in Jagan’s case.
