CHANDRABABU NAIDU’S BUS YATRA POSTPONED

Published on Aug 23 2013 // Featured, Political News

Trouble brewing in Telugu Desam. Less than 24 hours after Harikrishna announced that he would embark upon a bus yatra, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is feeling jittery.

If not, why would Chandrababu decide to shelve his much hyped bus yatra dubbed ‘Atma Gaurava Yatra’?

Sources in the TDP confirmed that leaders from Seemandhra region brought pressure on  Naidu to postpone the yatra as the protestors are waiting to spit venom at Naidu.
It is a known fact that Chandrababu was planning to begin his 15-day bus yatra from Kothavalasa in Vizianagaram district from August 25.

But his party leaders from Seemandhra region clearly explained to Chandrababu about the politcal developments in the region and public anger on him.

They reportedly told Naidu that the protestors will stop him on the first day itself demanding that he clearly spell out his stand on the bifurcation issue.
As Chandrababu has maintained a neutral stand on the Telangana issue, he will face flak from the Seemandhra region.

Political observers feel that TDP leaders are not able to participate in the Samaikyandhra agitation because of his stand on the Telangana. His party leaders who are on hunger strike have refrained from using Naidu’s photo to avoid the ire of protestors.

That apart, perhaps the most important reason that made Naidu chicken out was Hari Krsihna’s announcement of his yatra supporting Samaikyandhra.

Under the circumstances, Chandrababu has no option but to postpone his much-publicised yatra till things cool down.
Naidu is yet to decide on the date of his bus yatra. Will the TDP chief go ahead with his yatra or call it off?

It’s a wait and watch situation for now…
