TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu today said that Congress government had diluted and transferred the powers of the sarpanchs and defiled the panchayat raj system of administration.

Addressing the first regional conference of party cadres in the run up for the panchayat polls, the TDP chief said even the MNREGS was nothing but a congress program to loot the public wealth.

He said the mission of the TDP was to transform the agriculture into a profit making venture and also increased the quota for weaker sections up to 50 percent in the local body polls.

Chandrababu Naidu said TDP had transferred 15 of the 29 powers to Panchayats and had completely given them the work for food program implementation.
