Kavuri takes U Turn again
New Delhi : Union minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao has taken a U Turn on Telangana again.
The minister who earlier said he was would abide by the decision of the High Command on dividing the state now said that if division becomes inevitable, Hyderabad should be made union territory or a special state. He said both Telangana and Andhra states should have separate capitals. He also made it clear that he would not mind resigning his post, for the sake of the state.
Stating that the Congress High Command has recognized the intensity of the Samaikyandhra movement, he said he was hoping that the leadership might reconsider its decision. He made it clear that the Seemandhra people were not ready to loose Hyderabad and added that the people of all the three regions played an important role in developing Hyderabad. He said all the nine union ministers impressed upon the High Command to keep the state united and were hoping for a positive response.
This is the second U Turn of Kavuri. Kavuri a strong supporter of united Andhra Pradesh, suddenly became silent soon after he was made a central minister. He said though he opposed division, he would abide by the decision of the Congress leadership. Now he has again taken U Turn and said he would even quit his post, to keep the state sentiments.
