The Joint Director (JD) of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) V V Lakshminarayana has alleged the Sakshi media was trying to threaten him by resorting to unethical journalism.

In his complaint lodged with the city police on Wednesday, the JD said the Sakshi media had tried to damage his reputation, privacy and liberty by airing unethical and baseless news for hours on Sakshi television.

‘I have been investigating sensitive cases like Obulapuram Mining Company’s case, railway scams, Emmar and other cases.

But the efforts to malign me have been increased after registering the disproportionate assets case against Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, the JD said in his complaint.

The Joint Director also said in his complaint that one K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju had earlier filed a petition in the High Court against him and seven others alleging leakage of information related to investigation to the media and produced call data record (CDR) in the court. Sakshi media used the CDR unethically to present baseless stories.

The Joint Director alleged that there appears to be service provider role in it wondering how the service provider can disclose CDR to anybody.

The Cyber crime wing of the Central Crime Station (CCS) had registered a case based on the complaint lodged by the JD and submitted the FIR in a sealed cover to Nampally court on Wednesday.

The FIR (No. 128 of 2012) has been registered under sections 120 (B), 166, 499, 500 and 509 of Indian Penal Code, sections 24, 25 and 29 of Indian Telegraph Act and sections 66 and 72 of Information Technology Act and Official Secrets Act.
