The Telangana Rashtra Samiti has criticised the role being played by the Governor in th Telegana statehood issue

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, TRS secretary general K. Keshava Rao said that the Governor was functioning beyond his constitutional brief and it would not go well with the democracy. “He has no business whatsoever to give suggestions to the Centre on how to suppress the public opinion in a political issue,” the former MP remarked.

The Governor’s reported assurance given to the Centre that the movement and the people could be controlled using security forces was unconstitutional as the duty of the constitutional head was to protect the rights of the people feeling discriminated, he said.
