Surekha and others quit YSR Congress

Hyderabad : Former minister Konda Surekha who made serious allegations against the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday, announced her decision to quit the party. Party senior leaders KK Mahender Reddy, Jitta Bala Krishna Reddy, Raj Thakur and others also said they were leaving the party as it had gone back on its commitment to Telangana.

Surekha and others said she had left Congress and her cabinet post for her love for the family of the late Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy She said they hoped that the party would stick to its stand taken at the Idupulapaya Plenary that it would honour of the sentiments of the people of Telangana and would not object to the process of creation of the new state. She has also alleged that the YSR Congress leadership was only concerned about notes and seats. She also charged that the leadership really wanted them to go out of the party.
