BJP, Gadkari ready to replace K’taka CM Gowda in a week?
Bangalore, Jul 5: Sources from BS Yeddyurappa camp on Thursday, Jul 5 claimed that Jagadish Shettar will replace Sadananda Gowda in coming seven days and other sources also claimed that even BJP President Nitin Gadkari also in the favour of Shettar.
Shettar, the Rural Development Minister in Karnataka, hoped that the BJP high command will announce its decision soon. Explaining his view on the matter, Shettar said, A decision from the high command is likely to be conveyed within a week. We have left everything to the party leadership now. Their decision will be acceptable to us.”
Earlier BJP sources informed that the decision on the change of CM would be taken only after the presidential election which will be held on Jul 19. But now it seems that the highest decision making body of the party – BJP Parliamentary Board may take his decision within a week as Karnataka Assembly session will commence on Jul 16.
Meanwhile, BJP sources also claimed that veteran leader of the party, LK Advani is not so keen to choose third CM in this assembly session but he is more inclined towards a new election.
The former CM BS Yeddyurappa, whose earlier attempts to secure chief minister’s post failed, has been targeting Gowda, a loyalist-turned foe, seeking his removal and projecting his another loyalist Jagadish Shettar as the alternative.
