Visakhapatnam : Anakapalli Congress MP and Y S Jaganmohan Reddy-supporter Sabbam Hari announced his resignation, protesting against state bifurcation.

He said Congress was destroying the party in the state and it was very painful that the state was being divided into pieces. Hari announced he would lead the movement for Samaikya Andhra from the North Andhra districts.

Stating that Congress was trying only for political benefits, he said the party would not come to power in the Telangana region as it was hoping. He said the hearts of Telugu people were writhing in pain at the very thought of the division of the state. He said it was atrocious that the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao was stating that he would drive Andhra people out of Hyderabad which was commonly built. He said a day would come when KCR himself would be driven out of Hyderabad.

Expresses anger with Chiru

Hari expressed anger at the union minister Chiranjeevi for advising the Congress leaders to abide by the decision of the high powered committee Congress was promising to set up.  “You take care of your Tourism department. You also take care of your films. You act as you like. But don’t advise others to obey the Committee. You will be burnt by people’s anger” Hari warned Chiranjeevi.

Referring to the new proposal of appointing a high powered committee, he said it was an attempt to cheat and asked the people not to believe it. He said the party leaders should appear before any committee only after the decision to divide the state was withdrawn. Stating that the state division decision was taken against the tenets of democracy, Hari said the leadership resorted to dictatorship in the guise of democracy.

Stating that the Telugu people were made to discuss the state’s fate with leaders who had destroyed the party in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu and another leader (Digvijay) who ran off from his state as he could not become the Chief Minister there. “What is this misfortune of the Telugu people?”, he lamented. He faulted the Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel for the present state. He said when there was a dispute between the people, a legal solution should be found and in the case of Andhra Pradesh no such attempt was made. He questioned why the report of the Sri Krishna committee was not taken into consideration. He also complained that the Congress leadership had taken the decision to divide the state, without consulting anyone.

Stating that Hyderabad was brought to the present state through hard work by all the people for 60 years, he questioned how people of Andhra could now be asked to leave it. He asked Congress leaders to give a befitting reply to KCR. He said Telugu people would never forgive KCR for what he said.
