Samaikyandhra movement completed 61 days of its tireless agitation and still going on without let up and with the same spirit it has on day one.  On this occasion a massive public meeting was arranged on Sunday at Kurnool which hosted the first capital head quarters for the state of Andhra.

APNGO’s President Ashok Babu was the chief guest of the event.  Many people’s associations from many parts of the region participated the meeting with enthusiasm and in high spirits.  Cultural programs were conducted before the meeting started.

Leaders of different associations spoke on the specialty of the Samaikyandhra movement as it is not organized by any political leader with funds raised by political parties.  The agitating people voluntarily are coming out to protest in different ways.

The common elements found in the speeches of Samaikya leaders are,

The movement is voluntary,
Elected leaders of the people have failed in doing their duties,
Delhi politicians have no right to divide people talking same language Telugu and
They expressed their solidarity and full confidence in the leadership of Ashok Babu.  All associations leaders said that they will follow what Ashok Babu says.

For the first time revenue officers up to the Deputy Collectors joined the protest and their association assured of their support throughout. They said that they are paid by the people of the state and they have a responsibility to serve the people in return.
