Raghuveera In Race For CM Or PCC Chief Post?

Published on May 14 2013 // Featured, Political News

The way Congress president Sonia Gandhi had given audience to revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy for over 20 minutes and shared her views on the state of affairs of the Congress party in the state raised many eyebrows in the political circles.

Never in the past did Raghuveera get a chance to have one-on-one meeting with Sonia for such a long time, though he had met her along with other ministers and party leaders in the past.  And there were reports that it was Sonia who had called Raghuveera for a meeting to discuss the party affairs. And it was surprising to listen from Raghuveera that there were going to be major changes in the party and the government very shortly.

Sources said the high command might be considering Raghuveera as an option to replace chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and hence had given him an opportunity to present his views. If not the CM post, the high command might entrust him with the responsibility of the PCC chief post to lead the party to victory in the next elections. Raghuveera, being a backward class leader, would be of immense help to the party in consolidating the support of the BCs, SCs and STs in the next elections. Watch out for the developments on this front!
