New Delhi, Jun 27: Abu Jindal, a key suspect involved in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, confirmed Pakistan’s role in the conspiracy, said Home Minister P Chidambaram.

“There was state involvement in 26/11 attack. Jindal has confirmed that to us. No pinpointing to any particular agency,” said Chidambaram.

India had been tracking Abu Jindal for almost a year and finally nabbed him, said Chidambaram.

“Today the world appreciates the restraint we have shown. We have been tracking Abu Jindal for nearly a year. We tracked him, found him and apprehended him,” he said.

“The world appreciates how India is tracking every one of the accused in the 26/11 case. In contrast, Pakistan comes out poorly as a country in denial,” he said lashing out at Pakistan.

Yesterday I got a note from Rehman Malik requesting that India share information about Jindal with Pakistan. We will do that in due course, but I insist that Pakistan keeps its promise and gives us the voice samples of all those whose list I have given. Let’s see how Pakistan reacts. It’s Pakistan who is under pressure,” the Home Minister said.

Abu Jindal was nabbed from the Indira Gandhi International Aiport on Jun 21 and is currently in the custody of the Delhi Police till Jul 5. The Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad has now produced a production warrant in Delhi’s Tis Hazari court for Jindal’s interrogation.

Meanwhile, reports reveal that he will be interrogated for his possible link in the blasts that rocked the country after 2006 including the German bakery blast, Jama Masjid and Chinnaswamy blast.

He revealed that Hafiz Saeed was present in the control room in Karachi in 2008, while the 26/11 attackers continued their killing spree.

Sources reveal that Jindal was in the same boat as Kasab and other 26/11 attackers.

Meanwhile, Abu Jindal will be kept in custody till Jul 5. Sources reveal that his custody is likely to be extended till Jul 20.
