New Delhi: CBI counsel Ashok Bhan has said that the Supreme Court commented that Jagan was part of a very big economic scam and Vijaya Sai Reddy was a key conspirator in it.

Talking to the media after the supreme court rejected the bail of Jagan and cancelled that of Vijaya Sai Reddy, Ashok Bhanu said the court commented that economic offences cause chaos in the country.

He said though the court set a four-month deadline for completing the investigation, the agency could seek extension, if the investigation could not be completed by then.

The lawyer said the court on humanitarian considered the request of VIjaya Sai and directed him to surrender after his daughter’s marriage. He said the court felt that witnesses would face problems if Jagan, VIjaya Sai and Nimmagadda came out on bail at this juncture.
