Bad weather stalls PM’s Kokrajhar trip?
Kokrajhar (Assam), Jul 28: Bad weather on Saturday forced Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s chopper, which was on its way to strife-torn Kokrajhar in Assam, to return to Guwahati.
There are also reports that a technical snag might have caused a delay in the PM’s trip to Kokrajhar where an ethnic strife is brewing. The Air Force however maintains that bad weather is the reason for the trip getting stalled. The PM and Sonia Gandhi have left for Kokrajhar in another chopper.
Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi was scheduled to visit strife-torn Kokrajhar district in Assam to take stock of the situation. They are expected to visit a relief camp at Falakati and review the situation with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Bodoland Territorial Areas District (BTAD) leaders at Kokrajhar.
