The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy said on Monday that he will remain as the Chief Minister of AP and fight against bifurcation of the State. Talking to the news channel CNN and answering to the query why as a Chief Minister of AP and Member of the Congress Party he is fighting against the decision of the Center, Kiran Kumar Reddy said Seemandhra people have concerns about sharing of water and power and as the people of Semandhra are dependent on Hyderabad for education, medical and employment opportunities they are expressing their fears. He said that the concerns of Seemandhra people are not addressed properly in the process of decision made by the Center. For the persistent question of the TV News Channel that being a Chief Minister and part of the Congress party why the high command’s decision is opposed, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the welfare of the people is above political gains and went on telling that he always was consistently talking about the same issues with the high command. The news channel also questioned whether it is not the main concern as a Chief Minister to ensure law and order in the State, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the agitation is going on for the last 66 days and the prime responsibility of the Government is to tell them how their concerns will be addressed before taking a final decision. He also added that he is doing the same thing what he did at the time of Telangana people’s agitation. For the straight question whether Kiran Kumar Reddy will resign if the high command goes ahead with the process of bifurcation of the state, he answered that his position is not important but his resignation will not help the cause. That means, the news channel concluded that the Chief Minister wants to stay in the position and fight with the Center against the bifurcation of the State.
