Hyderabad: Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu will conclude his padayatra on May 1 in Srikakulam district. It is six months after he started his walkathon on October 2, last year.

Naidu, who is at present in West Godavari district, will move on to East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and finally reach Srikakulam district in the next six weeks.
According to party sources, Naidu will address a big meeting when the padayatra concludes somewhere near the Nimmada village, the native place of late party leader Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu and dedicate his padayatra to millions of workers on the eve of May Day.

The TD chief will return to Hyderabad on May 1 evening and attend the last day of the ongoing state Budget Session on May 2.

Sources said that after reaching here, Naidu will attend to party activities, review meetings, etc for 15 days in a month and the next half of the month will be spent on touring other districts that have not been covered during the padayatra.

Naidu, who completed more than 2,400 km as on Sunday, will cover another 600 km in the coming six weeks, to complete the targeted 3,000 km.

The TD president, who started his walkathon from Hindupur, the southernmost part of the state, has so far covered 14 districts and will complete another three before concluding.

On reaching the state headquarters, Naidu will have to revamp the state executive and the other party committees including the state youth wing as indications are that Lokesh, his son, is all set to take over the responsibilities of the party’s youth wing.
