Yeshvantpur Express Derails

Chennai: One person has died and over 20 people have been injured as 11 coaches of the Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Express train got derailed on Wednesday morning at Sitheri near Arakkonam in Tamil Nadu. The accident happened at 5:50 am on Wednesday morning.

The coaches of the weekly passenger which got derailed include five AC coaches, five non-AC coaches and one pantry coach. Rescue teams have been rushed to the spot. The reason behind the mishap is yet to be known.

In the wake of the accident, the rail traffic on Arakkonam junction has been affected. Seven trains have been cancelled.
