Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is all set to extensively tour the state to know the flaws in implementation of welfare schemes, which the Congress feels, has majorly contributed to its electoral debacle in the recent bypolls.

‘Since beneficiaries of various welfare schemes have drifted away from the Congress in the bypolls, the chief minister has decided to tour various districts to know the flaws in the schemes as well as the pulse of the beneficiaries,’ said a minister.

Sources in the PCC said that the programme which is formulated recently is likely to be christened as ‘Indiramma Bata’. The chief minister would tour each district for two to three days and review the implementation of schemes with officials concerned. He Reddy would interact with the beneficiaries to solve their grievances.

‘The propaganda of the YSR Congress leaders that the welfare schemes launched by the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy were discontinued by the present government has had an impact in the bypolls. The chief minister would use this programme to counter the false campaign of the YSRCP,’ said a senior Congress leader.

The programme would likely be started from next week from Godavari districts. Meanwhile, the Congress leaders are also planning to conduct victory rallies in Ramachandrapuram and Narsapuram segments, where the Congress emerged victorious.
