Happy ending for Eeli Nani’s daughter love story

MLA Eeli Nani, hailing from Tadepalligudem, has been under the media scanner since a few days for his involvement in violation of human rights by restricting the movement of his daughter from the house. Ramya aka Eeli Varalakshmi, escaped the house arrest a couple of days ago after repeated threats of marriage.

The story has its roots back to 2008 when Varalakshmi, a student of Sasi Engineering College, fell in love with his batch mate Sandeep and married him at Simhachalam Temple. They even stayed together for 10 days before his father traced his daughter and seperated the newly wed couple. Sandeep was threatened to be killed if he made efforts to contact Varalakshmi.

After this incident Ramya stayed at her house under arrest and Sandeep fled to Guntur and joined as a factory employee.

The story resurfaced with her eloping from the house. Nani suspected that it could be related to the love marriage after his alleged repeated threats to get his daughter married forcefully despite being married to Sandeep. He got Sandeep arrested with the help of police even before Ramya made an attempt to reach him on the phone. Talking to him through the media, they found out that he was under police custody.

MLA Nani however denied any allegations of house arrest or forcing her into another marriage. He only said that he wished for a happy life for her child.

Ramya urged the police to assist her and also requested help from Women welfare associations to get back together with Sandeep. Evidence with photographs of then getting married in Simhachalam was available confirming their wedlock.

Latest development is that the duo reunited after a very long delay and exchanged the garlands in the presence of lawyers confirming the legal status of their marriage. A happy ending but will this be the end of it all? We have to wait and see after the daughter of the MLA seeking protection from the police in case of inadvertant attacks.
