TDP demands reverse of FSA on common man

The Telugu Desam has said that GVK, GMR and Lanco power projects had sold power to Congress Govt at Rs.14 a unit and a burden of Rs.18,000 crore to domestic consumers in the form of fuel surcharge adjustment (FSA).

Demanding a scrutiny of accounts books of all three power generators by the CAG the TDP said govt should follow the example set by Tata power project on orders of Delhi High Court under similar circumstances.

The TDP MLAs Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy and A. Revanth Reddy said the government should to bear the entire burden of FSA because there were gross irregularities in power purchase agreements with private players. by YSR who had also assured not to raise the FSA for Rs.1,630 crore for years 2007-08 and 08-09.

Revanth Reddy ridiculed the claim of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy t0 ensure no power cuts in September – October with hydal generation as why should people have a Chief Minister if they could wait for rain god to bless the reservoirs?
