SEEMANDHRA LEADERS’ DATE WITH ANTONY COMMITTEE

Congress leaders from Andhra-Rayalaseema regions of Andhra Pradesh are all set to meet members of the AK Antony Committee, constituted to look into the situation arising out of the decision to form a separate Telangana state after bifurcating the existing state of AP at 8pm on Tuesday.

According to reliable sources, Seemandhra leaders have split into two groups while some leaders are for united AP, others want Rayala Telangana if the division is inevitable.

JC Diwakar Reddy,  Madhusudan Gupta and Tippe Swamy are prepared to write a letter in support of Rayala Telangana, it is learnt.

A few leaders from Kurnool district too are supporting Rayala Telangana proposal. However, leaders like Sake Sailajanath are making efforts to convince the leaders to fight for united AP.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy who is in Delhi is likely to meet the Antony Committee around 9pm today. He met the Seemandhra leaders at AP Bhavan in the morning.

The High Command summoned him to take stock of the political situation in the state in view of the continuing agitation by the Seemandhra people.
