Samaikyandhra rallies banned in Hyderabad

Hyderabad : The DGP Dinesh Reddy announced that Samaikyandhra rallies were banned in the Hyderabad city. He also warned that there would be stern action against stopping of trains and demolition of statues of national leaders. He said if anyone go to the train tracks, the punishments would be severe. He said prison sentence for stepping on to train tracks could be up to 3 years.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, he dismissed charges that the police were soft towards the Samaikyandhra agitators. he said police was a law-enforcing force with out any attachments towards caste, creed, religion or region. He appealed to leaders and the media not to attribute any motives to the police. He said the same rules that were enforced during the Telangana agitation were now being enforced in the Seemandhra region.

He also warned that there were video cameras on the train tracks and statues and action would be taken for violation of rules as per the video footage.

The DGP also warned that cases would be registered if anyone obstructed NGOs from going to office. He said Samaikyandhra rallies were banned in Hyderabad. When asked if this ban would be applicable to Telangana rallies also, he said if they get information about such rallies, they would impose ban on them also.
