Nandamuri Harikrishna’s resignation affects son’s film

Published on Aug 22 2013 // Featured, Political News

In recent days, there was a lot of buzz about whether Jr NTR’s Ramayya Vasthavayya will release on the scheduled date. The raging battle of Telangana and Seemandhra has put a question mark on all big film releases. The issue has now become a pain for the Nandamuri actor with his dad Harikrishna’s resignation.

Rajya Sabha MP Harikrishna resigned from his position in protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. As soon as his resignation was accepted today, the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU JAC) was quick to punch where it hurts the most.

The OU JAC has issued a statement that Jr NTR’s Ramayya Vasthavayya will be stopped from playing in Telangana. “We condemn Harikrishna’s resignation in support of the Samaikhyandhra agitation. We will not allow the screening of Jr NTR’s films in the Telangana region” members said.

This comes after Chiranjeevi’s statements and actions angered Seemandhra people, who felt betrayed at the politician’s diplomatic stand with Congress. His son Charan’s Yevadu has already been postponed to avoid any untoward incidents. Same goes for Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daredi.

With these new protests, it is unclear if the movies will release on the scheduled dates. All three movie releases may be pushed to the end of the year, if reports are to be believed. While the state continues to burn, uncertainty will be a constancy.
