MINISTER PARTHASARATHY SET TO RESIGN?

Giving support for the speculations following resignations of Ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao and Sabita Indra Reddy, another minister Parthasarathy, convicted in the FERA violation case called on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at his camp office on Tuesday night.

His meeting with Kiran attained significance following the media address by PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana who gave a hint on Tuesday that the ministers who were facing allegations should follow the suit of Dharmana and Sabita. AICC spokesperson P C Chacko also made similar comments a couple of days ago that the tainted ministers should resign taking cue from the Central ministers in UPA cabinet.  He made this comment when Kiran Reddy on his return journey from Delhi. Two ministers Dharmana and Sabita submitted their resignation papers to CM amid high drama.

Taking all the recent developments into consideration, the party high command was not ready to tolerate any lenience on the tainted ministers either in the Congress-ruled states or in the Central cabinet. If it is the case, Minister Parthasarathy, who was continuing in the cabinet even after he was convicted in the FERA violation case, though he was given the temporary stay order by the High Court, may resign or offered to resign at any point from now.

A decision on the other three tainted ministers – Ponnala Lakshmaiah, J Geeta Reddy and Kanna Lakshminarayana – is likely after June 7.
