Massive fire breaks out at Mumbai secretariat office

Mumbai, Jun 21: Massive fire broke out at the Mumbai secretariat office on Thursday, said fire brigade sources.

25 fire tenders and 3 ambulances have been rushed to the spot.

According to reports, the fire was first reported from the cabin of Babanrao Pachpute, Maharashtra state minister and NCP leader. The fire is suspected to have broken out due to short circuit.

No causalities have been reported so far. The building was immediately evacuated on the orders of Maharashtra Chief Secretary.

Sources reveal that fire spread to the Chief Minister’s office on the 6th floor of the building.

Several people are feared trapped in the 6th floor of the building including the key aides of Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.

Meanwhile, rescue operations are underway.
