All disputes within the Congress related to Telangana would be taken up after its separation from Andhra Pradesh, AICC General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh, Digvijaya Singh, said in Panaji on Friday. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a party function in capital of Goa. “We shall start discussions with people who have genuine issues after the separation,” Singh said.

The former Madhya Pradesh CM was responding to a query from reporters on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy voicing his concerns about the separation of Telangana from the State. “Congress president (Sonia Gandhi) has set up a committee headed by  Antony (Defence Minister) to look into all these issues,” he said. Later in New Delhi, he said the Antony Committee was linked to the process of creating the State of Telangana.

“Antony Committee is looking at all the issues, which have  arisen after the bifurcation of the State. So they are both linked.” Besides, he declared that there is no time-frame set for Antony Committee to submit its report.   Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday reacted sharply on the issue of the CWC decision to create Telangana. He demanded that the Centre resolve the key issues arising out of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh before formalising the creation of Telangana.

Kiran Reddy has voiced specific demands on the status of Hyderabad, the power-sharing and water-sharing issues, which are causing agony to the people of Seemandhra region.  Reacting to the remarks made by Kiran Reddy, Digvijay Singh said, “Congress President Sonia Gandhi has set up Antony Committee to look into all these issues. We will fix a date from Monday onwards, subject to the convenience of Antony. We shall request the Chief Minister and the APCC president to give us a list of the people, who would like to appear before the Antony Committee. The  Committee will hear them out and give its suggestions to the Government.”

Asked whether Antony will visit Hyderabad, Digvijay Singh said he can visit Hyderabad or he can meet them in Delhi, as Antony is a busy man since he is a Union Minister, and also Parliament is in session.
