Lok Satta Party president Jayaprakash Narayan kick-started his ‘Telugu Tejam’ yatra from Kurnool district on Saturday. On the very first day of his yatra, he faced the ire of Samaikyandhra activists.

The protestors obstructed the Lok Satta president during his speech at the statue of Telugu Talli in the town. They demanded that he first clear his party’s stand on the Telangana issue before delivering a speech.

Earlier in the day, speaking to the media, Jayaprakash asked if it was necessary to have all the Central government offices in Hyderabad. He demanded hat the Central government set up government and private companies in other parts of Andhra Pradesh too.

It is not right to observe bandhs, protests in Seemadhra in support of Samaikyandhra as would hit several people in the region, he opined.

He suggested that Seemandhra and Telangana people come together fight against the Delhi leaders. He also said that in the present situation, separate statehood for Rayalaseema would not be a great idea.

Jayaprakash will be touring important towns of Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra regions between September 14 and 27. He will interact with the stakeholders at round-table conferences and public meetings.
