Govt employees from Andhra will have to leave Telangana: KCR

Hyderabad: TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s comments on employees from non-Telangana regions have stirred up a row, with TDP and some other parties taking exception to the remarks.

“Definitely, they (employees from non-Telangana regions) have to go to Andhra government. There are no options here. The government must run in Andhra too. The employees from that region…They have to work in that government and our Telangana employees would work in our government,” he told a gathering of pro-Telangana employees.

“Our people would get promotions. Then adjustments, promotions and at the bottomline, filling up vacancies can be done,” he said.

With Rao’s remarks being interpreted as Andhra employees have to go back after formation of Telangana, TDP MP Nama Nageswara Rao, who belongs to the region, said, “Telangana is not the fiefdom of the TRS president.”

Former TRS MP and senior leader Vinod Kumar, however, said Rao only stated the rule position concerning employees post bifurcation.

TRS MLA T Harish Rao said a needless controversy is being made over the comments of the party president.
