Gali still confident of reigning K’taka politics
It has been more than a year and a half since former Karnataka minister and mining tycoon Gali Janardhan Reddy is in jail. During this period, he has completed his tenure as MLC, while his followers had launched BSR Congress party and fought the just concluded elections. The party had lost miserably in the polls winning just four seats, while Gali’s brother Somasekhara Reddy also had to bite the dust.
Yet, Gali has not lost his heart. Despite suffering heavy blow both in politics as well as business (the central government cancelled all his mining leases), the erstwhile mining baron said he would stage a comeback and play a crucial role in the Karnataka politics.
“The BSR Congress party has a great future in the state politics. It would emerge as a major political force in Karnataka in the coming days,” Gali said, in a brief chat with the media in Hyderabad while he was being produced in the court.
He said he was not disappointed with the Karnataka election results in which the BJP lost and BSR Congress could not prove itself. “No regrets. BSR Congress party president B Sriramulu has a bright future and he will be a great leader,” Gali said.
