CBI plea for narco test on Jagan rejected
The Principal Court for CBI cases here on Monday rejected the investigative agency’s petition to conduct narco, polygraph and brain mapping tests on YSR Congress party chief and Kadapa MP, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his financial advisor, V. Vijay Sai Reddy.
The CBI’s petition was rejected on the ground that it was not permitted without their consent as per Supreme Court judgement.
The CBI wanted to perform these tests on both of them as they did not cooperate with the investigation in the assets case against Mr. Jagan. It had even challenged them to give consent for the test to prove their innocence. It offered to admit low dosage of drugs for the narco test so that there was no harm to their health.
Mr. Jagan and Mr. Sai Reddy contended that there was no question of giving consent because they had nothing left to share with the CBI as the investigative agency has gathered all details form them when they were given in police custody.
