The Central Bureau of Investigation probing into alleged illegal assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has blamed it on lack of cooperation from the Kiran Kumar Reddy government for the delay in completion of investigation.

CBI counsel Ashok Bhan told the High Court on Tuesday that there was no response to many queries from the state government with regard to Jagan’s case.

“On an average, we have been making not less than 15 queries to the government seeking information on the quid pro quo deals between Jagan and the companies that had been benefitted during the YSR regime. But there have been no proper replies from the government. This has resulted in delay in the completion of investigation,” he said.

When the High Court bench asked the CBI as to how many days or months or years it would take to complete the investigation in Jagan’s case, the agency said it could not give specific time frame.

“The Supreme Court did not fix any deadline for the completion of investigation. And unless the investigation is completed and the last charge sheet is filed, Jagan should not be given bail,” the CBI counsel argued.
