Botsa admits Congress became weak in CM district

Vizianagaram : The PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana has admitted that Congress party’s majority was reduced in Chittoor, the native district of the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, in the just concluded first phase of Panchayat elections.

Talking to the media, he said it was also true that Congress party was weakened in four or five districts and added that there was need to discuss about the Chittoor district results in the party. Charging the TDP of manipulating results, he said the party was considering swelling to be strength.

To a question, he said MP Vivek might rejoin Congress. Claiming that Congress won a majority of Panchayats even in Telangana, he however clarified that they would not go for early polls based on Panchayat elections. He also said that there was no link between state division and Panchayat elections. When asked about IBN survey predicting a Jagan wave, Botsa said he would not trust the survey.
