Former minister and the present official spokes person of the Congress party, Kotagiri Vidyadar rao died today morning (Saturday) at Eluru due to cardiac arrest. He begins his political career in 1983 winning as Independent MLA from Chinthalapudi in West Godavari district. Later, he joins TDP and won in the 4 subsequent assembly elections from 1985-99. He served as Agricultural minister in late NTR’s cabinet. Later, he joins hands with Chandrababu, who revolts against late NTR and secured key portfolios like heavy Industries, Panchayat Raj etc. But, his political career begins its downhill journey from year 2004. After he was defeated in his home constituency-Chinthalapudi  in year 2004, he joined Chiranjeevi’s PRP, but was again defeated from Ungatooru constituency in the 2009 elections. He was brought into Congress party, when Chiranjeevi merges his PRP into it.
