2014 a distant dream for Congress, says Chiranjeevi

Hyderabad, Jun 23: Actor turned politician, Chiranjeevi hit at Congress saying that the party failed to recognize the contribution of Prajarajyam Party leaders and workers and it would lose 2014 elections if ‘sorry states of affairs continue’.

“If the same sorry state of affairs continues, target 2014 will become unrealisable,” he said.

He further lashed the party for not faring well in the recent bypolls in the state.

“Even though the PRP merged with the Congress, the huge army of its workers failed to get due recognition,” he said.

He said that the party would not be straightened if there was a gap between PRP and the Congress.

He said Tirupati was an example of what the party would have to face if there were differences of opinion in PRP and Congress. YSR Congress won by an outstanding  margin in the Tirupati constituency, which was earlier held by Chiranjeevi before he became a member of the Rajya Sabha.

“There has been an all-round uncertainty in the party and insecurity feeling among the workers and the leaders. This can best be tackled by appointing dedicated leaders to the nominated posts,” Chiranjeevi said.
