Assurance From CM Not Sufficient- Ashok Babu
The discussions that went on for more than three hours today between the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddyand the leaders of the employees unions yielded no fruitful results.
Kiran Kumar Reddy wanted the strike to be ended as the people of the Seemandhra region are suffering as the emergency services are also stopped in the strike. CM suggested that the protest can be made in other way but the present strike should be ended in the interests of the public in general.
The leaders of the employees unions from their part requested the Chief Minister to take them to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi and other leaders in high command to reason them.
As per the information received, the leaders of the employees unions expressed their decision that the strike will not be ended categorically. A firm assurance from the Government is needed to put a stop to the strike.
The employees unions’ leaders revealed to the media that the CM has assured that the State will not be bifurcated as long as he remains as the Chief Minister of the State. They said that CM said that Digvijay Singh told him that the telangana proposal comes to the Assembly twice.
They also complained that the Delhi leaders tell a different story every day.
The leaders of the employees’ unions said that the decision will be taken after discussing with all the associations. APNGOs Association President Ashok Babu said that the assurance from CM is not enough. The leaders of the Center should give firm assurance to end the strike. He said that the CM’s plea is that a cyclone is predicted and people of Coastal Andhra may suffer a lot from the strike. But, Ashok Babu said, they assured CM that if such a situation comes they will serve the public and still continue strike.
