VIDYUTH SOUDHA TENSE AFTER SEEMANDHRA-TELANGANA FACEOFF
The face off between Seemandhra and Telangana employees continues in Hyderabad. Tension prevailed at Vidyuth Soudha, the energy department headquarters, today too when the employees exchanged pro and anti-Telangana slogans.
The protests and counter protests are leading to tension between the two sides. At one stage, the employees of both the regions pushed each resulting in several people being arrested.
This the fourth time the Vidyuth Soudha has turned tense. Police did not allow TRS leaders Harish Rao and Etela Rajender to enter Vidyuth Soudha who had come to extend their solidarity to the Telangana employees. Police took into custody several TRS leaders when the situation turned tense.
As the TRS leaders were being shifted into police vans, a rift broke out between the Telangana employess and police personnel.
Also, the cops refused to allow anybody inside the Vidyuth Soudha except officials/staff.
Meanwhile, the state government imposed a restriction at the Secretariat where the Seemandhra employees have been protesting for the past 27 days.
The government directed the employees not to conduct rallies, protests or any type off agitational programmes in and around the Secratariat. The government warned stern action against those violating the rules.
Earlier in the day, Seemandhra employees raised slogans against AICC president Sonia Gandhi at the C block. Perhaps is what prompted the government to impose restrictions, feel employees.
In a related development, Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma issued orders against conducting rallies, protests in the twin cities of Hyderabad till August 29.
The protests by various sections of people in Seemandhra continued for the 27th day. The strike by employees paralysed the administration.
