The Union Cabinet meeting is going to take place in the evening at 5.30 today.  As per the information received from reliable sources, there is every chance of a Note on Telangana to get placed before the Cabinet in the meeting.  The sources also said that it could have taken place yesterday but for the delay due to sudden coming up of the ordinance issue.

Unlike during the times of Indira Gandhi, the general opinion is that the Congress is doing something without much deliberations and due consideration of the facts and later either trying to cover up the steps or retrace.  Yesterday’s hurried step to withdraw the ordinance protecting convicted leaders is an example for that.

Cabinet note on Telangana is only the first step in the bifurcation process.  But it gives an assurance to the supporters of separate Telangana State that the Government is not delaying the process of it and also not withdrawing it as Samaikyandhra leaders are claiming.
