Acting on her complaint, CCS police ad arrested the Cantonment MLA on Monday.

It may be recalled that Vamsi Prya filed a writ in the AP high court on June 19, alleging that her husband Sasank, father-in-law Sankar Rao, mother-in-law Viswa Santi and her husband’s sister Susmita were harassing her for additional dowry. She asked the court to have the matter investigated.

She also mentioned in the petition that the criminal court had earlier directed all the accused to surrender and handover their passports in the court. She complained that they had not followed the court’s directions and alleged that the police also had not taken any action against them.
