Kiran Kumar’s Pada Yatra In Seemandhra

Published on Sep 10 2013 // Featured, Political News

Right from the beginning the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Kiran Kumar Reddy was pleading for keeping the State united.  He argued and put forth his views to the Core Committee of the Congress party and also representations to the Congress Working Committee regarding the consequences of bifurcating the State.  He time and again tried to impress upon the party high command that the decision of the bifurcation will harm the people of Seemandhra and also the congress party’s strength in the State.

As the Congress party is going ahead adamantly with the CWC’s decision of State bifurcation and as Padayatras of YSRCP and TDP are apparently gaining goodwill in the areas they are moving, the chief minister is also planning to go on Pada Yatra in the State.

He also reportedly told his colleagues that he will resign before the Telangana Bill reaches State Assembly from Center.  In spite of the suggestion by the State Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana that it will give wrong indications to the high command that Kiran is working against the party high command.  But, Kiran Kumar Reddy made up his mind to go ahead with the Pada Yatra for which he asked his colleagues to make arrangements for Padayatra.  His padayatra will be in support of Samaikyandhra.

It will be a protest that is first of its kind in the country.  So far no Chief Minister has made protests against his own party’s decision.  But as a staunch supporter of the Samaikyandhra movement, Kiran Kumar Reddy is going to make a history.  Before the announcement of the decision of CWC, Kiran Kumar Reddy was taken as loyalist to the party but the decision of Core Committee and further by CWC made him think in opposite lines to the Center.
