HC rejects petition seeking CBI probe into Jana Reddy assets
Hyderabad, July 15: Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy has got a respite in the High Court on Monday. The Court dismissed the petition filed by one V V Rao demanding CBI inquiry into the assets of Jana Reddy. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the petitioner.
It may be mentioned here that VV Rao, along with some other like-minded advocates, filed a petition against Jana Reddy alleging that the minister had amassed several crores of rupees by misuse of official power and through money laundering and transferring the same to his companies. However, the court perused the petition and rejected the plea of petitioners to direct the CBI and Enforcement Directorate to inquire into Jana Reddy’s “illegal” assets.
It may be recalled that VV Rao filed petition for second time as the Court had instructed him to file the petition in another form. But VV Rao filed the case for the second time making same changes in his petition.
