New Delhi : Senior MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao was at last accommodated in the union cabinet. The 69-year-old five time MP was given cabinet position. In a rare gesture, the Congress High Command has also made him a permanent invitee of the Congress Working Committee, the highest policy making body of the party.

It may be recalled that Kavuri had resigned to all party posts as a protest against his not being accommodated in the cabinet and the new entrant Daggubati Purandeswari being encouraged.

J D Seelam was accommodated as a minister of State. The two time Rajya Sabha member is ostensibly accommodated to counter Jagan. Silam is a Christian and the Congress possibly expects him to check the slide of SC Christian voters to YSR Congress.
