Hyderabad, Jan 22: Arguments on the bail petition of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had concluded in the high court on Tuesday. The court reserved its judgment to January 24.

While Niranjan Reddy argued on behalf of Jagan, Additional Solicitor General Ashok Bhan argued on behalf of the CBI.

Niranjan Reddy has said that Jagan was taken into remand in all the aspects and not on CC 8 alone. He told the court that the remand was not in connection with the filed charge-sheet. Stating that the CBI had assured the Supreme Court that it would complete its investigation at the earliest, he has questioned when it was going to end. He also asked if Jagan would be kept in the jail as long as CBI continues its investigation even though he should not be kept in the jail for more than 90 days under any circumstances.

The high court has asked the CBI how long more and how many years it would take to complete the investigation. CBI informed the court that it was facing difficulty in the investigation, as the government was not cooperating. The agency said it was not hesitating to bring this fact to the notice of the court. The CBI counsel also pointed that the Supreme Court asked Jagan not to apply for bail until the investigation completed.
