GSLV-D5 Rocket launch delayed over leakage

Authorities at Sriharikota have announced that the launch of GSLV-D5 was postponed due to a leakage. The launch was called off at the last minute, when a discrepancy was identified in the geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle.

As the countdown continued, a cryogenic engine near the second stage was found to leak Nitrogen. The leakage was noticed while the engine was being fuelled. Subsequently, the scientists held an emergency meeting and confirmed that they put the launch on hold.

Launch process was halted just 2 hours before the take off at 4:50 pm. According to an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) spokesperson, a new launch date will be announced later. The GSLV-D5 rocket will take to the skies only after the issues have been addressed.
