Dual Tongued Lieutenants Necessary in Politics
The AICC Chief Secretary and In Charge of State Affairs, Digvijay Singh says today that it is a very difficult task to divide a united State. He also reminds that the Telangana issue has been going on for the last so many years.
It will be a wasteful effort to try to understand the meaning of that statement. Rather it is only to be looked for the reasons of making statements like that. Certainly it is not to confuse the public although that what results.
That type of statements will be handy at a later stage. All the lieutenants of the party high command will say something or other so that at a later stage it can be said that it was already made clear earlier.
It was said that Telangana will be a reality and they will hear sweet news very soon, probably after core committee meeting. When it was not decided by the core committee, it was told at that time also that the problem is a long pending one and needs time. When the UPA and CWC decided in favor of bifurcation of the State again the promises made by the Congress party since Chidambaram’s statement were reminded. All warnings of repercussions from Seemandhra were given by the AP Ministers and leaders were not cared while taking a decision in spite of the blame of doing it for a political gain. It was told that the process for the bifurcation is on and it is a matter of time to see it as a reality. When the turmoil in the Seemandhra region is increasing again the congress party is looking for ways with sugar coated words.
Digvijay Singh says that the Defence Minister A.K.Antony led committee of four members is formed before which the NGOs, Students and leaders of all parties can speak and put forward their side of arguments. He asked the NGO’s not to go ahead with the strike for which they already gave notice to the Government. Instead of that, he says that they can make their point in a dialogue with the committee formed only for the purpose of making things easy in solving the State’s bifurcation issue.
It is evident now that the Congress party is not clear about what to do and what not regarding the State issue. It is only looking for the ways to retrace its steps just in case it is required. It is to be noted that so far the AICC President Sonia Gandhi has not given any public statement about the bifurcation of the State. Only her lieutenants are giving different statements in attempt to pacify the situation.
