APSRTC to run special buses for Sankranti

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) officials on Sunday announced that 4,410 special buses will be operated between January 9 and 13 for the upcoming Sankranti festival. APSRTC executive director A Koteshwar Rao said 50% additional fare would be charged in the special buses, which has been the practice.

“The frequency of the special buses will be increased depending on the demand,” Koteshwar Rao added. The special buses would be plied in addition to the existing 3,543 buses being operated on day-to-day basis. To avoid traffic jams, long-distance buses would be operated from the bus stations at Old CBS hanger, Dilsukhnagar, JBS and Uppal crossroads depending on the destination.
