Veteran actress Manjula passed away at a private hospital in chennai today. she was already suffering from jaundice and also hurt her stomach after falling down from the cot,today morning. she was rushed to the hospital immediately and doctors tried hard to remove the blood-clot in her stomach. she breathed her last in the hospital, few hours ago she is married to actor vijayakumar and the couple have three daughters, vanitha, preethi and sridevi vijakumar. manjula made her debut as a teenage girl in shanthi nilayam (1969). her first lead role was in rickshawkaran (1971).

manjula happens to be the second wife of actor vijay kumar, who has acted in many telugu films in supporting roles. both manjula and vijaya kumar have acted together in telugu movies like vasu manjula acted besides all star heroes like Ntr, anr, shoban babu, kamal haasan, sivaji ganesan and MGR. Superhit telugu flicks like mayadari malligadu, pichhimaaraju and dorababu feature her as heroine. she created a wave in tamil and telugu cinema with her spicy skin shows in late 60s and was labelled as a hit pair alongside sivaji Ganesan.

the 59 year ols actress was not well from some time after tensions erupted in her family due to some harsh allegations made by her own daughter vanitha.her other daughters preethi and sridevi sizzled as heroiness in tollwood for some time.
