CM to meet anti-Telangana MLAs today
New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Reddy will meet state party legislators on Saturday who are protesting against the formation of separate Telangana state.
Reddy along with Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief B Satyanarayana would hold talks with the ministers and MLAs from the Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra in Hyderabad.
The MLAs submitted their resignations and stated that they are quitting to protest against division of the state which is detrimental to the interest of the people of Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and Andhra).
At least 25 Congress MLAs had submitted their resignation to the Congress Committee chief while several others had given their resignation to the Legislative Assembly Speaker.
The decision for the formation of the Indian’s 29th state was endorsed by UPA allies and cleared by the powerful Congress Working Committee on Tuesday.
While the decision has been welcomed by pro-Telangana supporters, those opposed to the move have termed it suicidal.
